Publication Ethics
Javanicus Journal of Advanced Animal Sciences (JJAAS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. All authors, editors, reviewers, and editorial staff involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to the ethical standards outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
We follow the COPE Core Practices and encourage all parties to familiarize themselves with the detailed principles and cases provided by COPE at https://publicationethics.org.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original and properly cite the work and ideas of others. Plagiarism in any form is unethical and unacceptable.
Multiple Submissions: Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal. Duplicate publication is strictly prohibited.
Authorship: All persons who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Those who have contributed less substantially should be acknowledged appropriately.
Data Integrity: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data. Manipulation or fabrication of data is unethical and unacceptable.
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Fair Decision-Making: Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, without bias based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs of the authors.
Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submissions and not disclose any information to anyone other than those involved in the review and publication process.
Conflict of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for their own research without the author’s explicit consent.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat the manuscript as a confidential document and not share it with others.
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing constructive feedback with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest.
4. Misconduct Handling and Retractions
JJAAS is committed to investigating any ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data falsification, authorship disputes) in accordance with COPE’s flowcharts and guidelines. When necessary, retractions or corrections will be published to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
5. Ethical Oversight
Research involving animals must follow institutional and national guidelines for the ethical treatment of animals. All submissions must clearly state that appropriate ethical standards were followed and, where necessary, must include the approval of an ethics committee.
